Tried to make a Brushed Metal style in CSS3. The texture is done by using 3 repeating-gradients with different length. That makes it look somewhat random. For the linear version, browser support is pretty ok, but for the radial one it’s not quite there yet. I think only in Safari 5.1 and Chrome Windows.
In addition I tried to add a conical gradient for the circle with just faking it with ellipse gradients. It’s ok for low contrasts and if you cover the middle part with an icon or so.. hehe.. ;-P A much more real looking technique is used in this experiment, but I believe it currently only works in Safari and Chrome Windows. Let’s hope that CSS4 will add support for real conical gradients.

Dropbox a TrueCrypt
Jak na cryptovanou složku v Dropboxu.
Použil jsem open source program TrueCrypt který je dostupný jak pro Windows tak MacOSX a Linux.
Instalace proběhla bezproblémově a hned jsem skočil do tutorialu. Ten vás provede vytvořením virtuálního disku, který je reprezentován jediným souborem. Chtěl jsem si fungování vyzkoušet, tak jsem zvolil 10MB storage a následně po wizardu úspěšně připojil do systému. Náhral jsem si co jsem chtěl a všiml si, že ikonka dropboxu ukazuje problém. Nelze synchronizovat soubor ~Dropbox/Crypt/tajne jelikož je uzamčen a používán systémem. To tak asi bývá :) když se má soubor snažit tvářit jako další harddisk. “Dismount” v TrueCryptu odpojilo disk ze systému a dropboxí ikonka se změnila v tu rotující…. super.
Na druhém počítači už jen proběhla Dropbox synchronizace, nainstaloval jsem TrueCryp a v něm si připojil jako další disk můj dropboxí soubor. Olalá vidím to co chci vidět :) takže spokojenost.
TrueCrypt s Dropoxem tedy funguje, jen je třeba dávat pozor, aby se soubor synchronizoval. Další oříšek bude pokud se změní na dvou místech zárověn, pak už bude řešení kolizí trošku problém, ale ne nevyřešitelný, ale zbytečně kostrbatý.

Wallaby | Adobe Flash FLA to HTML
Convert Adobe Flash FLA files into HTML and reach more devices “Wallaby” is the codename for an experimental technology that converts the artwork and animation contained in Adobe® Flash® Professional (FLA) files into HTML. This allows you to reuse and extend the reach of your content to devices that do not support the Flash runtimes. Once these files are converted to HTML, you can edit them with an HTML editing tool, such as Adobe Dreamweaver®, or by hand if desired. You can view the output in one of the supported browsers or on an iOS device.
The iPad 2 has landed. The second version features the new A5 processor, providing up to 9x faster graphics and a 2x faster, dual-core processor. Fortunately, the device has retained exactly the same battery life. Feature-wise, some of the most notable announcements include:
- A new design which is 33% thinner. Thinner than your iPhone 4

- “Smart Covers” which come in an array of colors and grip onto the iPad using magnets, and automatically put the iPad to sleep when applied, and wake it up when removed. Smart covers also automatically convert to stands for both portrait and landscape use.
